Only weeks into 2021, the Visalia Chamber of Commerce was hard at work to provide support and growth opportunities to members, local businesses and our community.

In February, the Taking Care of Business Fund was announced, which is a partnership between the chamber, the Groppetti Automotive Family and Momentum Broadcasting. The fund will assist small Tulare County businesses that are struggling to survive during the pandemic. Interested business owners can apply for grants at visaliachamber.org. In addition, donations can be made on the same website. The Groppetti Automotive Family has pledged a very generous donation to act as matching seed money. The hope is to provide multiple rounds of funding opportunities to local businesses.

The Visalia Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that this year’s IMPACT Leadership Conference will take place on Wednesday, April 21.

The conference will be virtual but still provide the essential opportunity for business owners and employees in our community and beyond to participate in quality leadership and workforce training. The conference will kick off with a morning pep talk by executive coach Justin Patton and conclude with motivational speaker Rebecca Heiss, CEO/founder of Biologic Balance. Throughout the day, attendees will be able to participate in breakout sessions presented by local industry experts and community leaders. The full conference schedule, breakout session topics and more can be found at visaliachamber.org/impact. Early-bird tickets are available until April 1.

The spring Jr. CEO program launches in March. During the five-week digital program, participating students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of starting their own business, an orange juice stand (or another concept that they have created). Course topics include business fundamentals, cost models, safety and food prep, marketing and customer service, and money management. Save the date! On May 1, students will open their businesses across town on Jr. CEO orange juice day. For more information or to register your child, please visit visaliachamber.org/ceo.
