T

he Tulare Chamber of Commerce has been hitting the ground running and is looking forward to the return of some of our most beloved events and programs.

We are excited to welcome back our annual Crush Party event this fall, which is hosted in partnership with the College of the Sequoias (COS) Foundation. This event features premium California wines, gourmet food selections from some of the area’s most popular eateries and an opportunity drawing for a wine collection of 109 bottles of wine. We invite you to join us at Crush Party on Friday, Oct. 1, at the COS Tulare College Center from 6 to 9 p.m. This event will take place outdoors.

Our Business After Hours networking mixers are back in person, most recently hosted by Cool Hand Luke’s. The restaurant offers great food and drinks, and values community and family. The Chamber’s networking mixers provide an opportunity to learn more about the host business while also providing connection opportunities for attendees. Business After Hours occur on the second Thursday of every month from 5:30-7 p.m. Visit our Facebook page or ularechamber.org for more details, including location and dates. Join us in September for good food, prizes and more at Valley Strong Credit Union!

The Youth Ambassadors for Business program is back for the 2021-22 school year. Throughout the year, this group will be introduced to businesses, government, agriculture, community and Chamber events. The group will participate in sessions focused on leadership development, personality assessment, group dynamics, public speaking, social media, economic development and other training focused on the development of participants’ skills and community knowledge.

We are excited to welcome two growing businesses to Tulare in the Spring of 2022. Quesadilla Gorilla and Component Coffee Lab are expanding to Tulare, and celebrated the groundbreaking of their new location on the corner of Leland Avenue and Hillman Street. The two businesses are collaborating on a two-building space with shared patio seating. Quesadilla Gorilla started in Visalia and continues to expand its business, which serves gourmet quesadillas and homemade salsas.

This will be the second location for Component Coffee Lab, which began as a mobile cart and expanded into brick and mortar located in Visalia in 2018.

Tulare is beaming with pride as we celebrate our very own Olympic Silver Medalist, Richard Torrez Jr. A Mission Oak graduate and member of the Tulare Athletic Boxing Club, Richard is home-grown. In celebration of Richard’s accomplishments, the Chamber announced the addition of a new mural project that will feature him and accompany the existing murals of fellow Olympians Bob Mathias and Sim Iness. The murals are located in downtown Tulare at K Street and Tulare Avenue on the Chamber building. If you would like to donate to the mural project, please contact the Tulare Chamber of Commerce at (559) 686-1547.
